At a press conference held at Tehran’s Museum of Contemporary Art, head of the museum, Habibollah Sadeqi gave details about the event.

He said that the participating countries will include the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, Turkey, Iraqi Kurdistan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Sadeqi added that the festival has been organized with the cooperation of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) and the Iranian Academy of Art in order to boost interaction between young artists.

The secretary of the festival, Mohsen Ghaffari-Azar stated that 354 artists from 29 Iranian provinces, as well as four artists from each of the participating countries will be displaying artworks at the festival.

The entries will be judged by a team of seventeen artists including Ahmad Vakili, Jalal Shabahangi, Hamid Ajami, Javad Sadeqi, Ardeshir Rostami, and Mostafa Aqamiri.

Participants will be competing in a large range of visual art including painting, miniatures, sculpture, graphic design, calligraphy and cartoons, he said, adding that the winning artists will be awarded at the closing ceremony on September 5.
